The Women of Faith Ministry Today

admin on August 9th, 2008

If you’ve ever been to a Women of Faith conference then I know I don’t have to explain their purpose to you. For those that haven’t, the Women of Faith conference experience is out of this world and you leave the forum as if you’ve just been on a weekend retreat with your closest Christian friends.

In the beginning…

Founded in 1996 to encourage Christian women of faith, the Women of Faith group began their journey with 10 sold-out events held in churches. The numbers of 36,000 for ten conferences in the first year, to me are phenomenal. I mean, I know if I tried to throw together ten conferences in a year, I’m guessing I might be lucky to get 36 Christians at each event.

Growing, Growing, Growing…

With all that faith, they couldn’t go wrong as they more than tripled their numbers in the next year; while moving into arenas and only adding 5 conferences. By 1998 they doubled the conferences and the attendance from the previous year and were on their way. Within the next two years they elected a President, Mary Graham, and the Women of Faith brand became a division of longstanding bookseller and publishing company, Thomas Nelson, Inc. which was founded in Scotland. How longstanding….try since the late 1700’s.

The Women Who Entertain Us…

Today many of the Women of Faith speakers and performers are household names to Christian women everywhere. Over three million women had participated in their conferences by their tenth anniversary in 2005. Patsy Clairmont, Marilyn Meberg, Luci Swindoll (yes Chuck’s her brother), Sheila Walsh and Thelma Wells readily come to mind. See many of you are laughing as you read their names. Over the years they’ve been joined by some of the best Christian music artists, including their very own Women of Faith praise team, and special Christian women who come to share their testimonies.

Today…

Although I haven’t been to a conference in quite a few years I’ve checked out the recent conference information and Women of Faith speaker list and I found that they still have an incredible team of Christians.

If you’re a mom, and you don’t know all ready, you’ll be very pleased to find out about The Revolve Tour for teen girls that began in 2005. My oldest is too young but I’ll be thrilled when she is able to participate in something this great for Christian teen girls.

Sharing Time…

Please share with us your Women of Faith conference stories. Did any of you actually become a Christian at a Women of Faith conference? Any teens out there ever been on The Revolve Tour, or are you a mom who as sent you daughter to one? We’d love to hear all about it.

  1. I work a web designer for Women of Faith and ran across your post :) It’s awesome to see others who were touched by the experience and keeping up with us. Before I worked at Women of Faith I attended a conference and it changed my life – that was three years ago, and that one conference still drives my passion for it today. I’m going again this weekend and can’t wait! I also got to go to the last Revolve Tour and it is AMAZING!!! Really it’s indescribable. As a mother I’m going to try to find someone to bring every year, partly so I can hear about what issues all those teen girls are dealing with in their lives and how to conquer them. I can’t wait for the day I can bring my daughter with me :)

I’d love to send you a little trinket to say “Thanks” for your support! If that’s okay, you can email me with your address.

    Thanks!

Im a very “devoted” christian and I guess I have a few questions on my mind..
I’ve been thinking a lot about dating.. but im not sure where to get going.
My brothers have been telling me christian dating is the way to go.. so I’ve done a little research on Proper Christian Dating Behavior and found some stuff on google
Would be sweet to listen to your input.
